in "sick of goodby's' by Robert Frank, it focuses on mirrors and reflection. The photograph is two mirrors placed on top of each other with words written "sick of goodby's" in dripping black paint. the mirrors have reflections of hands, toys and other mirrors, this image is different to "Red #1" because franks photo is black and white. Lorenzo Vitturi's image focuses on a sculpture placed in front of a blue and orange background. The sculpture includes abstract objects such as bricks, fake flowers and string. I find his sculpture interesting and unusual because I wouldn't personally place these objects together.
I believe the photos don't have a lot similarities, apart from that they are both portrait and have centre pieces. In Roberts Frank photo his center piece is the mirrors and words "sick of goodby's". While Lorenzo's is the sculpture. The differences between the images is the colour. In Franks photo, the image is black and white which gives it a quite sad feel and Lorenzo's is very bright, colourful and eye catching which gives it a positive mood. In "sick of good by's" I find the hand holding the skeleton doll the most interesting because it makes me wonder who's holding it and why they chose a creepy doll.
In Roberts photo he focuses on straight and curved edges of mirrors and and dripping writing. I like this because its a mix between both. In Vitturies, the edges he uses are much more jagged and eye catching because he uses more objects which layer on top of each other to make it more interesting. If I could talk to each artist I would ask why they chose that composition. I would ask how they came up with the idea to create the image.
If I were to give Robert Frank photo a new title I would call it either "mirrors" or "reflection" because it represents whats happening in the photograph. For Lorenzo's photograph I would retitle it to "layers" because it shows all the different layers of objects in the sculpture. If i was in the first photo i would think it would be quite lonely and sad because of how dark it is. And if i was in the "Red #1" image i think the atmosphere would be happy and fun because of the bright colours.
